How often do you feel dissatisfaction with yourself because you didn’t have the time or forgot to do very important tasks?
How often did you think about how to learn useful skills that will help you keep everything under control and do more every day?
Such habits do not come from anywhere. They need to be developed and to make some effort. As a rule, it is difficult to start and continue to learn useful skills because of the difficulty tracking the process of their implementation.
However, there is a method by which it is much easier to perform all the tasks and achieve a goal, and it calls the habits & daily goals tracker.
Perhaps you have already heard about the “21-day rule”. It says that if you do something every day for three weeks, this action will take root in your brain and become a habit. It’s true or not, but regularity is really important in everything: from school or university classes to morning exercises. That’s why habit tracker has become so popular.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about the tracker is that you cannot fool him. “So, I have a week on proper nutrition, and once I can eat a cake” – and that’s not true, the habit tracker shows that this week you have already fallen off the diet twice. In addition, it can be used to monitor not only habits but also repetitive routine tasks that you often forget about: washing, cleaning, watering flowers.
One of the main problems of beginners in planning is that quite often they simply forget to open their notebook or planner and therefore do not follow the progress. I also had such a problem, which I overcame only in two ways: I left my planner in a prominent place where it was always be visible and I constantly worked with it. I always plan my time and tasks that I need to do today, tomorrow, after a week, month, and year. It helps to keep up and manage your time. Moreover, this is the first habit that you need to learn.
Usually, the productive habits & daily goals tracker is drawn up in the form of a table, where vertically you write down dates, and horizontally – the things that you want to track. The days when you performed the desired action are marked with icons or painted in a certain color. Colors can mean different areas of life: for example, red – for finance, yellow – health, green – personal tasks, etc. For having enough colors, be sure to have a bunch of bright markers.
Tracker habits can be made in the form of drawings, as in the photo below.
Everyone chooses for oneself the frequency of the tracker: daily, weekly, monthly or annually. However, the most productive, in my opinion, a combination of different frequencies of such tracking.
Here is a universal list of habits that can be entered into your tracker (all for daily execution):
- To drink 4 glasses of water
- To walk 5-6 km
- To read 30 minutes
- To meditate
- To stop using the phone or computer after 23.00
- To take vitamins
- To write down one or three good events, which was happened per day
- To stop eating sugar
Make a bright day, week or month tracker. It is a very effective tool for introducing new good habits and supporting old ones. After executing every task – put a tick or paint it.
And when you see the column is completely painted over, you feel a surge of pride in yourself (and, therefore, serotonin). So is not just fun, but the knowledge-based support of neurophysiology on the way to creating a healthy regime!
